Privacy
Privacy and confidentiality are related to new media. Some issues are that we are not careful enough of what we put on the Internet. This can lead to identity theft or just your information being put out on the web in general. The second you post something on the internet, its public. You may think its private, but little do you know anyone can see it. This is similar to our paper we had to write. Even with Facebook nothing is private. It starts with the cookies. Even sometimes ill see advertisements pop up on Facebook and i think to myself how do they know what i was just looking at. Also with Twitter , anything you put up there can be criticized. Your writing is in words and it can be shared anywhere. We just need to be more aware of what business we put on the media.
P2P
File sharing is the public or private sharing, distributing, and transmitting of computer data or files in a network with different levels of access privilege. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file sharing is a software program you download to directly edit another peers files without going through an intermediate server. You allow other users to access these media files. This P2P software explores for other connected computers on a P2P network to locate the files. With file sharing and P2P file sharing you can share multiple things such as photos, documents, music, and videos. P2P is very convenient and right at hand for businesses and for people in school as well. Who wants to sit in the library for four hours when we can just share our documents from home and work on it on our own time? P2P has generated many complications for movies and music as well just because now we can download anything for free. Nobody wants to pay $16 for one movie ticket. In "Digital Pirates Winning Battle with Studios", Stelter and Stone state that " Young people, in particular, conclude that if it's so easy, it can't be wrong."Due to illegal downloads, the revenue of the industry takes a huge toll. From my own experience, i download my music for free. I'm not going to go through itunes and pay $1.29 if i can just get the music for free in the same quality.

Next New
A new type of media that doesn't exist? Too many thoughts run through my mind, but what popped into my head was sneakers and sports. I love sneakers, all kinds. So I would like to see an app on a smart phone where you can see all of the releasing upcoming sneaker style and colors for every brand such as Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Asics, Converse, Vans, New Balance, Reebok. You would be able to favorite the brands you like so you can just see their new releases that are coming out. For example, I would favorite Nike, Adidas and Asics because i wear their brands the most. So I would only see their brands on my newsfeed. If at any point, i would be able to add another brand to my feed. That would be one part of the app. Another part of the app would be what stores are selling which shoe. Sometimes i get customers coming into my store asking for jordans when we only sell nike running and sportswear shoes. So i would have to tell them to go to a different Nike location. You would be able to save a lot of time traveling and its a pain to keep getting on the train.

Modeling Reality with Virtual Worlds
One way virtual worlds can be used is by companies are innovating the virtual community Second Life that allows businesses to have their own meetings on their computer networks according to the article " Going to the virtual office in Second Life". In another article they used the virtual world in hospitals. "In Avatar 2:The Hospital", Stephanie Simon states that "its part of an online simulation designed to help nurses make quick, sure decisions in emergencies."
Some Pros are that it has better privacy and protection from public networks and could encourage more companies to take up this technology.
Some Cons are that these employees will have to take the extra time to learn how to use these virtual worlds. The real life workplace conversation is much more realistic and better to communicate.
In the future i feel that a lot more companies will do a trial and error with the virtual world to help improve their own systems.

Creativity and New Media
Here is an avatar in a virtual side of me that i created through Snapchat. It symbolizes who you are and/or what your hobbies are. You can customize everything, your hair, your outfit, your eye color, your accessories, technically anything you want. I am a tom boy and always wear hats and love to play basketball so this is me !
Creativity
"New Media fosters creativity" is such a perfect statement. Graphic designing is huge in todays generation. All of these new websites to create your own design has sprung. The new Apple ipad has also come out with new features to create designs just by a few clicks. In one of the readings, it stated, "The tools required for new media creativity are easier to obtain and learn to use than those of traditional creative works". It is true. All of the tools are right at our hand. It is our choice whether to make something creative or not. My coworker/friend has his own clothing line and hat line called Goldfinger. But no one would have ever found out about the brand until Instagram and Snapchat and Twitter came out in order to showcase it off. People on social media end up spreading and sharing whats in style which is hipster/ streetwear. Therefore, people make a living off of this and it feeds through and starts with social media.

Social Networking sites
The four sites i chose to visit were the only four i have which include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat. They have many similarities but a few differences which make them each unique and that is why majority of society has them today! We use all of these social networking sites to keep up with the world and what going on because its most convenient and right at hand, just one or two clicks away.
Facebook is mostly used to connect and keep in touch with family and friends that are across the country or in a different state. Us users can post comments, post photos, share photos or links to news or motivating content that interests us on our own page. You can "like or follow" the data you are interested in. I mostly use Facebook for my job. We have a secret group where only my coworkers are members. We go on there to post shifts that we don't want or to swap shifts or even cover for someone who can't make it in that day. It quick and more convenient than email.
Twitter is a little different than Facebook in the sense that you are limited to 160 characters. Basically, get your point across. I feel that most people use Twitter to voice their opinion. I barely use twitter but when i do, i use it to keep updated on sports games if I'm not home. Twitter is like the go to, to find out whats happening now with politics, sports or celebrities.
Snapchat is a mobile app where you can post videos and pictures from 1 to 10 seconds. Whatever you post goes away after a day. Its easy which is what people want. Within seconds you can send a picture and receive one back from your friend. There are also many different filters you can apply to yourself or whatever you post.
Instagram is the most popular social networking site in my opinion. You can post pictures or videos. The newest addition to this site is that you can post multiple pictures in one post. You have a newsfeed with all of the people you follow to keep updated on their activity. There is now Instagram and Facebook live where anyone can watch and tune in to what you're doing at that exact moment.
